Are Police Harassing Students/Residents in Albion, Michigan "Friendliest College Town in the Midwest" ?

I'd like to clarify that neither I, nor any of my family members have attended Albion College. 

But I do live right next door. ✋😉

I've also been told that the police allegedly "like to harass the (Albion) College students" over parking.   

In fact, the officer that wrote us a parking ticket at 4 in the morning told my family she was "checking up on the college students" 

In response, I have created a change.org petition to modify / amend the parking regulations in Albion.

Now, I may not be the scholarly type, 

But why would the police be harassing people for parking at 4 AM in the "Friendliest College Town in the Midwest" ? 

Especially considering these "college students" are paying over $65,000.00 per year in tuition, housing, and fees.

To put that number in perspective, a Fully Loaded - Tesla Model 3 - would cost around $64,000.00

But where is all of that money going? ( Spoiler- it's not the roads)

It seems the City of Albion would benefit by spending less time fining it's hardworking students, and residents, and more time fixing their crumbling infrastructure. 

Sign the Petition

Call Albion City Hall (517) 629-7189 

Tell them (respectfully) that you want a change to the

 Albion Parking Regulations !

Example: 

"Hello my name is, ________. I'm calling to tell you that the current parking regulations in the City of Albion are causing unnecessary stress, and hassle for students, and members of this community, and I am requesting that changes be made immediately. The City of Albion should have no role in determining whether my guests can spend the night, park safely on the street outside of my residence, or block the sidewalk that runs directly through my driveway. I'm calling to tell you that a formal petition has been created in regards to these regulations, which I have signed, and I will continue to work tirelessly until these issues are resolved. "
